Jesus didn’t need the season YOU did! Jesus had no need for the season.5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. It is because of you and I that Jesus came to this earth. YOU and I…sinners…are the reason for the season. YOU are! You might be saying, “ What?! You mean it’s all about me? That doesn’t sound right.“ “ Jesus Is The Reason For The Season” Wouldn’t you agree with that one? Raise your hand if you would say that Jesus is the reason for the season? That’s kind of what Linus was saying to Charlie Brown isn’t it? Maybe…but I think we are still missing the point if we say that Jesus is the reason for the season…because… He’s not. “ Keep Christ in Christmas” Do you agree with that? Absolutely. that’s the real reason for Christmas.” But is it? For the most part people don’t really know the purpose of Christmas.īut do even we in the church really know? I think we in the church can sometimes miss the point too, even with our own clichés.

He then concludes by succinctly saying, “ And that’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.“ I can tell you what Christmas is all about.” He steps up to the microphone and procedes to quote the biblical Christmas story from Luke 2. Then that famous scene happens where Charlie Brown’s best friend Linus says, “ Sure Charlie Brown. I can tell you what Christmas is all about.”
